THE TABLE

  • What is THE TABLE? 
    • THE TABLE is a new 45 minute service meeting at 6:15 pm every Sunday evening starting August 15 in the Beargrass Chapel.
    • THE TABLE replaces the 5:30 Saturday service while retaining much of the feel of that service.
  • Why is the New Service called THE TABLE?
    • We believe that Jesus welcomes everyone to THE TABLE to celebrate weekly communion as we strive to live more like he showed us. 
    • Communion is the heart of our worship experience because it helps us connect intimately and meaningfully to each other and to Christ.
    • All who believe in Christ are welcome to celebrate communion at THE TABLE.
  • What is THE TABLE service like?
    • THE TABLE worship community spends time singing and praising God together, praying interactively, learning from scripture and an inspirational sermon message, and meeting at the Table for communion together. 
  • How do I know where to go once I arrive at Beargrass?
    • The entrance is on the Browns Lane side at the entrance without the portico.
    • THE TABLE meets in the more intimate chapel.
  • Is the dress casual?
    • THE TABLE invites you to come as you are!  Whether you dress formally or casual, you are welcome at THE TABLE.
  • How do I meet people and get connected?
    • Show up?  You’ll find a friendly group of people who are warm and welcoming.  It’s easy to get plugged in at THE TABLE.

  • Is childcare provided?
    • Yes!  Childcare for babies and young children is offered by an experienced nursery staff.
    • There is 4:30—6:00 p.m. programming for time for elementary, middle, and high school students.
  • Is there anything else happening at Beargrass Sunday afternoon?
    • There are plans for additional adult programming between 4:30 and 6:00 p.m. throughout the year.  Check our website (beargrass.org) for programming.
  • What do we believe?
    • You will find that THE TABLE is open to confronting the hard questions of faith together and that we don’t fall into the old categories of “conservative” or “liberal.”  Instead, we prefer to simply be “Christian” and bound together by God’s love for us all.
    • We believe Communion at THE TABLE is the centerpiece of our worship experience and all are welcome.
