The Alternative Giving Fair is one of many expressions of our congregation’s generosity for over two decades. During this event, we celebrate the joy of giving by extending the hope of the Christ Child to those in need. On Sunday, December 17, the day on which the Candle of Joy will be lit in worship, the organizations listed here will have tables in our gathering space. Visit the tables then to donate! If you wish, you can mail or deliver a check payable to Beargrass (with the intended agency on the memo line). The online Fair runs December 3-24.
Show your support of one or all organizations by:
Giving online using the form below (through December 24), meeting and supporting each organization on Sunday, December 17, or by mailing a check to the church office.

Habitat for Humanity. While Habitat’s work is home-building, its purpose is to change lives with the hope brought through housing solutions of home ownership, community development, and home repair. Donations are channeled through Habitat of Metro Louisville.

Hope for Tomorrow Children’s Home. This Christ-centered facility in Guatemala provides a family environment to meet the physical, educational, medical, spiritual, and other needs of its young residents. Many Beargrass mission teams, youth and adult, have traveled there over the past decade, including earlier this year.

Lighthouse Academy at Newburg. Lighthouse’s mission is to provide neighborhood youth with a safe place to learn and grow through educational, economic, and spiritual programs. Homework completion, tutoring in reading and math, and a hot meal are all included in its after-school focus.

LOU (Louisville Outreach for the Unsheltered). The successor to Fed with Faith which was founded at Beargrass in 2013, our members and friends continue to play an integral role in this ministry. It is dedicated to serving Louisville’s unsheltered population by providing meals, blankets, coats, bicycles, and other essentials.

Strong Missions. Since 2003, this ministry has been on the ground in Costa Rica year round helping empower the impoverished there. Strong works to strengthen the infrastructure of families, schools, churches, and homes for children and older adults. Beargrass youth and college-age members have previously made mission trips there.
WaterStep. This 25 year-old local ministry provides safe water solutions around the globe. In addition to providing the purification systems, they offer training in their installation, as well as in overall health education. As they strive to empower communities to handle their own safe water needs, they engage mission partners such as Beargrass for the field work.
