Primary Adventures (grades k-2)
The Primary Adventures group consists of the 1st and 2nd graders of the church. This group meets four or five times during the school year for various social outings on Sunday afternoons. These events enable children to interact with their church friends outside of the traditional worship settings. Primary Adventures events include bowling, roller skating, Gattiland, movies, and other in-town adventures.
JYF (grades 3-5)
Junior Youth Fellowship (JYF) is composed of children in grades 3-5. During the school year, JYF meets on Sunday evenings from 5:00-6:30 pm. JYF Sunday night activities include game-playing, Bible study, crafts, service projects, and many other cool activities.
JYF also takes days trips to places like the Cincinnati Zoo, Beach Waterpark, and Cincinnati Museum Center. It has also visited Mammoth Cave, Kentucky Down Under, and other exciting places. JYF has a lock-in at the church each year and usually visits Holiday World in the summer.
Discipleship Class (for 5th graders)
Beargrass offers a Discipleship Class for 5th grade children who are interested in baptism. The class meets during the Lenten season (February or March) for four weeks on Sunday afternoon. Led by Rev. Steven Straub, the class covers the Bible, communion, baptism, and church history. At the end of the class, children have the opportunity to decide if they want to make their confession of faith and be baptized.
