On Sunday, July 30, our former Youth Minister, Rev. Kelley Dick, will bring the message at 9 am, and Reverend Dr. William Barber will preach at 11 am. Both services will feature music led by Andra Moran.
We expect a larger-than-normal crowd on this day, so plans are in place to accommodate the additional guests. Everyone is asked to be seated in the Sanctuary, and overflow seating will be available in Chalice Hall and the Chapel. To help manage traffic flow, parking attendants will be on-site to help direct cars to parking lots of nearby businesses once the BCC lot is filled.
In celebration of the Assembly’s theme, “Kindom of God, Within Us, Among Us,” eight paintings by our own Debra Lott will be shown in the Gathering Space Sunday morning. Debra focuses on the female form, empowering women and reflecting upon the human experience. “Tangled Threads” reveals visual poetry of connective threads between historic cultures and contemporary women.
A luncheon will be held in the BCC gym immediately following the 11 am service. The luncheon will offer anti-racism and pro-reconciliations teams, congregants, and advocates an opportunity to meet the Beargrass Anti-Racism committee and share their experiences and successes in their reconciliation ministries. Box lunches will be provided for those staying for the fellowship and/or the possible Q&A session with Reverend Barber. Registration is required. The deadline to RSVP is July 23 at 3 pm.
