Beargrass is committed to providing quality care for our youngest members. Our ARK wing (Always Reaching Kids) is open from 8:30-12:30 each Sunday morning for children from infancy through kindergarten. While parents attend worship and Sunday School, children have their own learning and worship experience in the ARK. During their stay on the ARK, children are ministered to by paid staff and parent volunteers. Childcare is also available during Saturday worship, Wednesday programming, and other special events.
8:45 – 9:45 am – Paid caregivers and parent volunteers assist your child with supervised play and activities. An ARK storyteller will share an interactive Bible story.
9:50 – 10:10 am – Melody Makers, a choir for three-year-olds through kindergarten, meets in the chapel under the direction of Meg Blackwell. Paid caregivers will escort the children to and from Melody Makers from their ARK room.
10:10 – 10:45 am – Sunday School is led by volunteer teachers. The curriculum is designed to give children a basic understanding of the Bible and Christian principles.
11:00 am – 12:15 am – Paid caregivers and parent volunteers assist your child with supervised play and activities. An ARK storyteller will share an interactive Bible story.
Upon boarding the ARK, all parents are asked to complete a basic form that provides the child’s age, allergies, medical information, basic parental information, and list of people who are authorized to pick up the children. Parents are expected to sign children in and out each time they visit the ARK wing.
Dodi Hance, young children’s coordinator, supervises the ARK wing. Paid caregivers and volunteers help maintain a safe and fun environment for all children. Children are divided into age-appropriate rooms. Fun activities are available for the children as their parents attend worship and Sunday School.
