Summer is here, which means Vacation Bible School (VBS) is just around the corner!!
Vacation Bible School will take place June 9-13, 2024 from 6:30-8:00 pm each evening. Most nights will include an opening gathering, Bible stories, crafts, science, and other activities. The last night will include a carnival and food trucks.
This year’s theme will be Camp Firelight: A Summer Adventure with God! Bible stories including Jacob’s dream, Ruth and Naomi, young Jesus in the temple, Jesus calming a storm, and more!
The Children’s Ministry Team is currently planning a wonderful experience for all children, but they need volunteers to help make the magic happen! If you are interested in helping with any aspect of VBS (including but not limited to crafts, storytelling, science, registration, decorations, and carnival), please call Steven Straub at 502.896.1161 or email him at [email protected]. All youth who have completed grades 6-12 can volunteer to assist with VBS.
Again this year, JYF (those who have completed 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade) will have an entirely separate program. While they will join the other children for the opening festivities each night, the rest of the evening will be spent in their own program designed around the theme.
While there is an overall theme as mentioned above, the programming for each night will be self-contained. You can come one night, all five nights, or any number of nights in between. Bottom line: don’t let swim team one night or baseball one night stop you from participating in VBS.
Registration is now open using the link below. Children who are age 4 by August 1 through those who have completed 5th grade are welcome to sign up. (Childcare is available for younger siblings whose parents are volunteering.)
