Beargrass’ Children’s Ministry is committed to offering educational, faith-building, and fun activities for all children. Our programs are designed to help children grow in their faith, build relationships, and learn the importance of community. We strive to ensure that every child knows:

Children at Beargrass

SUNDAY MORNING
Children’s Worship takes place during Sunday worship services for grades K – 5. Worship Packets are available for children who remain in Sunday’s main worship service. Sunday School classes are held for pre-school and elementary children at 10 am.

CHILDREN’S MUSIC
• In collaboration with the Creative Worship Team, our grade school children learn new songs on Wednesday nights and during Sunday School. These songs are often shared with the congregation during special music time in Sunday Worship.

Our Approach

We look forward to your children participating in one or more of our exciting programs. Beargrass believes children play a vital role in the life of the church; thus, the church strives to offer a variety of educational, faith-building, and fun activities to meet the needs of all children. All programs are designed to help children grow in faith wherever they find themselves on their spiritual journey. In addition, we offer opportunities for kids to just be kids and to get to know each other outside the traditional worship setting.

Children’s Ministry Programming

SPECIAL EVENTS
CARnival of Fun Friends & Family Movie Night: Build your ‘box’ car, get your ‘box car’ driver’s license, go through the car wash (yes!), enjoy concessions, watch movies, and for the adults we have a special ‘Adult Pit-Stop Hangout!
Fall Festival: Intergenerational event with Trunk or Treat, games, and dinner.
Breakfast with Santa: Pancake breakfast, Christmas crafts, and photos with Santa.
Easter Egg Hunt: A community-wide event!
Vacation Bible School: Evening program in June for children in grades 4 and 5.

GROUP ACTIVITIES
JYF (Junior Youth Fellowship) is for children in grades 3 – 5 and meets every Sunday during the school year.
Primary Adventures offers activities for K-2nd grade, held quarterly.

ARK WING
The ARK (Always Reaching Kids) is open to nursery and preschool children during Sunday morning services.
ARK Wing Story Time includes Bible stories and activities during Sunday morning services.

Music & Movement and Faith Formation Explorations with Rev. Erin

SUMMER CAMPS
Mission Day Camp is a mission-focused summer day camp for kids who have completed grades 3 – 5.

Compassion Camp VBS is a summer curriculum by Illustrated Ministry presented in the evenings for kids entering grades K-3.

Children in Grades K-5 also have opportunities to visit Camp Wakon’da-Ho for different camps that offer faith formation with summertime fun.

About Our Children’s Team

• Erin Phelps (Minister for Children and Communications) leads outstanding faith development on Sunday and Wednesday evenings during the school year.
• Compassionate and committed church members teach Sunday classes (10 am) for Grades K-5
• Dodi Hance (ARK Director) directs excellent nursery and child care in The ARK during all worship services and major church events.
